The single crochet stitch

Here is one individual who is not ashamed to be a spinster - meet miss Single Crochet!

The single crochet stitch is the most basic of all stitches. In fact, this is the only truly important stitch to learn - all other stitches are variations of this basic stitch. She may be Single, but she is the Mother of all others!


Ready? Let's begin!

First, make a slipknot.

Then, chain a number of stitches, let's say ten.

PS from now on I will not include the previous videos on how to make a slipknot, how to position your hands, and how to make a chain stitch. If you made it this far, I expect these techniques to be ingrained in your memory and you will probably be able to do them in your sleep!
